Hi there, My name is Laura and I am a psychologist who works with people of all ages.

In my formative years I was always very curious about the lives lived by others, the experiences that shaped them and their inner worlds in addition to how the human mind operated. I would also describe myself as a very compassionate, intuitive, and deeply feeling individual so when I graduated high school, I realised that psychology sounded like it aligned deeply with my areas of natural interest and served as a way of harnessing my pre-existing characteristics.

I bring a warm, genuine, empathetic, curious, and open nature to my therapy sessions. I also thoroughly enjoy bringing a sense of lightness, creativity, and humour into my sessions where appropriate.

I believe feeling truly heard and authentic relationships with others are the cure to many of the curve balls that life undoubtedly throws our way. I also strongly believe relationships are the fabric to life and that they have a profound ability to heal.

I don’t assume the role of expert but rather someone to help guide the people I have the pleasure of sitting across the room from to the answers and or changes that best align with their values and hopes for the future. I believe each individual is the own expert and curator of their lives, and that everyone has the ability to grow, flourish, and thrive with the right supports in place. I myself have found therapy to be extremely helpful over the years and have found it to have helped greatly with my own reflection process and overall personal development.

My main aim is to provide clients with a relaxed, comfortable, and safe environment to explore their concerns, a place where one can be ones most authentic self, flaws and all free of judgement while giving those I have the opportunity to work with unconditional positive regard (not something that we often experience in our daily lives sadly).

I draw from a variety of therapy modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, Schema therapy, trauma informed and neuroaffirming therapy, attachment-based therapies, in addition to creative and somatic therapies. The therapy modalities I use are client-centred and highly dependent on the needs of each individual and may vary greatly over time depending on your specific needs. However, I primarily take more of a client-led, casual, and conversational approach to best suit individuals no matter what phase or chapter of life they are in and will always strive to meet you where you are at, wherever that may be. I believe therapy can help us unlock parts of ourselves that we didn’t know existed and that learning, growing, and evolving is a lifelong process with no start or finish date nor is our progress as human beings always linear.

I have the deepest of respect for individuals at each and every stage of their therapy journey and consider it an absolute privilege to provide a therapy space that encourages vulnerability, strength, growth, and reflection.
