Hi there, I’m Bek.

I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories and the deeply human experience of trying to make sense of ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Across my work in forensic, government, and private mental health settings, I’ve seen how often people adapt in incredibly creative and protective ways just to survive environments and systems that can feel overwhelming, disconnected, or unsafe. Therapy can be the space where you don’t need to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or have everything figured out before you arrive.

I work from a relational, conversational, and deeply human approach to therapy. I aim to meet people not as “problems to be solved”, but as whole human beings carrying histories, coping strategies, strengths, contradictions, grief, humour, and hope. It’s a privilege to sit alongside people in moments of courage and vulnerability, and help create enough safety for genuine exploration, reflection, and growth.

My approach is largely informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work, somatic techniques, and Flash Therapy for trauma and distress reprocessing. I’m particularly interested in helping people build their capacity to sit with discomfort safely and compassionately, so they can develop greater trust in themselves and their body’s ability to move through life’s challenges, while also becoming more present for moments of joy, connection, and meaning.

I also enjoy exploring assessment and diagnostic questions collaboratively when helpful. I approach this work in a neuro-affirming, decolonial, and non-pathologising way that honours the function and history of people’s coping mechanisms without judgement. Sometimes having language for our experiences can bring clarity, self-understanding, self-compassion, or access to support, but I don’t believe people are reducible to labels or diagnoses.

I tend to be fairly down-to-earth in the therapy room and often incorporate humour where it feels natural and supportive. I see therapy as a collaborative process where you are the expert in your own life, and my role is not to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as we explore what feels stuck, disconnected, protective, painful, or longing for attention and care.

My areas of interest include:

  • Trauma

  • Intrusive thoughts

  • Neurodiversity

  • Sexuality

  • Sexual abuse/assault, and sexual health

  • Domestic violence

  • Anxiety

  • Spirituality

When I’m not at Little Window I’m flitting about to Pilates and yoga classes, trying new coffee shops or lounging about at home watching reruns of Grand Designs.
